My how fast they grow up!

I recently had the pleasure of taking family photographs of one of my favorite people in the world…LP!!!  If we are being honest – she was a big part of the reason I’m here today.  She hired me into the media biz of which I was in for 10 yrs and now she still continues to believe me.  I will be forever grateful LP!  These two amazingly beautiful girls are her daughters.  I first meet them when they were probably 6 and 8.  They have grown into the most beautiful girls (both inside and out) and I must say they gave me a bit of ‘SENIOR FEVER’.  Hadn’t really thought much about doing senior photos until I was able to spend a little bit of time with these girls.  Enjoy…more to come.

Thanks again P Family!  I really enjoyed spending some time with you all and thank you for the opportunity to photograph you all!

The Magic Hour…

This time of day is what photographers call the ‘magic hour’.  (the first and last hour of sunlight during the day).  I simply love this light and was thrilled to catch this photo and many more of this little girl.   For those of you who ask me about when is the best time to shoot…well…this is it!  It might be breakfast or dinner time for your kids but I assure you it’s well worth working a shoot around. :) By the way – I have a slight obsession with camera tilt.  I’m working on controlling that a bit.  But until then you might want to go ahead and expect a few ‘off angled’ photos from me.  As I understand it, not everyone loves the tilt look as much as I do!;)

Homework, Playtime – all together a GREAT shoot!

So I’m relieved and excited to share this next post!  It was part of an assignment that I’ve been working on for a photography class I’m taking.  It turned into a great learning experience for me, a fun time with this little girl and a blast to do something different and urban!  One might think that I’m trying to tap into my roots of being a child fashion photographer. :)  No really, this was submitted for my official assignment in storytelling.  We were given direction to create a story board of photos based loosely on the Dr Seuss book Oh The Places You’ll go.  I took it very LOOSE and based my photo upon the following snippet of the book.

“Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.”

For you literal folks out there – just shake your head and enjoy the photos.  For you creative ones – see if you can see where I am coming from:)

Cat – you were AMAZING!  Thank you so much for a fun day … I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!!
