Meet Claudia!  I think I first photographed her back in Spring of 2011!!  Well 6 years later she’s just as fun, even more stylish and more beautiful and willing to let me style her up and play around for a fun shoot this summer.  Typically my summers are slow because of this Texas heat – but we were able to sneak in an edgy and colorful session with the help of clothing from The Gypsy Wagon and amazing styling from my friend and hair/makeup artist – Russ!  Thanks for the fun and the creative inspiration Claudia!  I’m pretty sure everyone is going to want a ‘record store’ session soon!  XOXO

So I firmly believe that every once in a while you need to step outside your comfort zone, surround yourself with strangers, travel somewhere solo and have a blast trying new things!  This was one of those times.  This past spring I headed up to Tahoe (an amazing place to shoot by the way) to stretch my shooting muscles with some other amazing photographers around the country.  This was the Elevate Photography Workshop Retreat.  It was so wonderful!  The location, the models, the workshop leaders, the other photographers, the inspiration and so much more!  Loved every ounce of it and want to give a big thanks to Nicole Cook, Tara Rochelle & True Moua for their time, their talent and their amazing games of HEADS UP!  🙂

PS – if anyone can find me a rocky creek, a wooded forest and car size boulders in Dallas – I’d greatly appreciate it!  🙂

Talk about a natural!  So easy and fun to photograph – right from the get go!  We were lucky to have a day without crazy wind, beautiful light and some pretty little pink flowers ‘ta-boot’!   She was full of personality, style, grace and humor – perfect mix to be honest with you!  Amanda – you were so great on this session and so fun to work with.  Wishing you the best of luck and tons of fun at OU next fall!

I wish that everyone could have just a bit of what Kenedy has.  I can’t even put my finger on the right word.  Zest and Joy are the closest words I can come up with.  She’s had a rough patch in life for sure with a battle against cancer, but I can only think that that did one of two things…made her stronger and more optimistic after her recovery – OR – her natural spark and joy for life is part of what got her through.  Regardless…she’s a bright light and I wish you all could have a little Kenedy in your life!  She’s an amazing artist in her own right and I’m certain she will go on to do bright, brilliant and joyful things.  Kenedy – it was a pleasure!!

When Ellie reached out and wanted to do a shoot downtown – I was literally giddy with excitement.  I LOVE nature looks but I must say – downtown is BRIGHT, FUN, COLORFUL & different – just like Ellie!  We weren’t blessed with the best of weather for this shoot but I must say – she certainly made the most of it, had a great outlook the entire way through and ended up with some great images!  Don’t ever doubt a downtown session!   They are fun! 🙂 Ellie – so fun working with you – have an AMAZING time at UCLA in the Fall!!
